Diabetes and Vetsulin Recap
As you may know, Vetsulin has been discontinued and diabetic animals are being transitioned to Humulin N (or a similar human insulin appropriate for dogs and some cats) or Lantus/glargine (for cats). The only--only--way to ascertain exactly what is going on with your dog or cat is to take their blood glucose.

On "Pets" and "Its"
When referring to cats, dogs and horses of unknown sex, the children would randomly assign sex, with the conventionally "prettier" animals being called "she." remember that as a child I called all cats "she" and dogs "he" in the absence of a name. We do that with cats and dogs already, right? So far so good.

On Cat Killers and Mental Competency
People in South Florida are still in an uproar over the mutilation and slaughter of 19 house cats (allegedly) by 18-year old Tyler Weinman, who was declared mentally competent and not a danger to himself or others (!). Weinman had participated in cat dissection in school, and that is being discussed as a possible trigger for his behavior.

On the Banning of Eating Cats and Dogs in China
Sometimes an article has a couple of the above, as in the case of " Chinese Legal Experts Call for a Ban on Eating Cats and Dogs." Let's deconstruct: Legal experts in China are proposing a ban on the eating of dogs and cats. So the ban isn't being suggested because eating cats and dogs is wrong, but because it's creating conflict.

On Bestiality
One good acquaintance I could probably call a friend is an ethics professor who flies back and forth from Texas to China frequently argued in a group pertaining to bestiality. This occurs in all animal breeders: bovine, horses, dogs, cats, pigs, and other animals. Tags: Ethics Are they going to pay any attention to the law?

Pahokee Opens for Project Treadstone
Sure, it takes an hour to get there and I have no idea how I'm going to get 10 cats in my car or even trap 10 cats, but I'm still enjoying the honeymoon phase of the concept and reveling in some kind of victory I had nothing to do with. Here's the biggest feral cat I've ever seen, who looks like somebody's house cat.

Animal Rights Zone Launches Today
Ethics. Also, that's how you get the cat-and-dog-and-horse (and maybe dolphin) people to cross over into a world where cuteness isn't the primary concern. Tags: Activism Current Affairs Ethics Today is the launch of. Also, it has the added bonus of organizing my content better than I have. On the left, you'll see this: Concepts.

Powder Puff, RIP, and More
This week we are going to try to trap four cats for fixing, vaccinating, ear-tipping and microchipping on Friday. cats, many of whom are pregnant. I'm not sure where I'm going to get the money for all of this, but if I do only a couple of cats a week, and try to get the females first, that's better than nothing.

Yet More Good News for Project Treadstone
received a call yesterday from a woman who started a coalition for homeless cats. She said her Trapper Man could go to the Project Treadstone site--last night and this morning--and trap up to 10 cats that she would bring to Pahokee. She has brought over a dozen cats there in just two weeks, 11 of whom were pregnant.

On Cannibalism
However I cannot see a rational argument for saying eating dogs or cats is barbaric while eating pork or beef is fine. If you eat meat you cannot logically find it morally or ethically repugnant to eat a particular meat (I’m setting cannibalism aside here.). Tags: Current Affairs Ethics Language think not.

On Ducks and Geese
Now I have the drama of the feral cats and of course the greyhounds. Creatures have come in phases for me: the duck phase, the cat phase, the dog phase, the bear phase (I was living in Vermont--it was unavoidable), the Canada goose phase. On Teaching Children
Are the kids cooking monkey, cat, dog, alligator or turtle? How about an ethical adventure ? If you're going to call something an anthropological adventure, it would make sense to teach the kids about the other animals humans eat and give the kids the opportunity to prepare and eat dog, cat and monkey, no? And what about cheese?
