As another year begins, most of us find ourselves reflecting on our lives and resolving to improve ourselves and our lives in various ways. resolving to quit smoking. Lose weight. Quit smoking. Exercise more.

Prima Facie vs. Ultima Facie Wrongness
Jonathan Hubbell, a philosophy major at the University of Texas at Arlington, is the newest member of the Animal Ethics blog, and once again, I would like to welcome him aboard. As I have noted elsewhere, with minimal effort, people can learn to cook delicious vegetarian meals. It does not follow that it is permissible to eat all meat.
