Controversy and conflict are nothing new to the internet. Controversy and conflict are also nothing new to birders. Both the online world and the birding world are full of disputes, arguments, disagreements, squabbles, and quarrels. Rather than hide from conflict, ignore controversy, and pretend everyone gets along about everything we here at 10,000 Birds decided we would have a week where we writers welcome wrangling. This week will be full of polemics, rants, diatribes, and harangues. You may not agree with some of the things that you read on 10,000 Birds this week. So be it. We invite you to clap back at me and Mike and all of our wonderful writers in the comments because each of us will be challenging you to Come@Me!

That said, we don’t think any of our post topics are beyond the pale. For example, you will find no one arguing for outdoor cats, drunk driving on a twitch, or rooting for the New York Mets. All of those are clearly indefensible topics. We are more refined, merely enjoying invasive species, thinking extinct birds are gone and you should get over it, and that those who like to watch gulls probably have a screw or two loose. You can see our full week’s worth of scheduled offerings below:

Does this sound like a fun week or what? Can you handle Come@Me Week? We’re going to have a blast! Come on back each and every day to agree or argue!
Come@Me Week is a cheap ploy ginned up by some high priced consultants we at 10,000 Birds hired and then stiffed on the bill. We’re desperately trying to stay relevant in a bird blogosphere being decimated by Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and memes. We here at 10,000 Birds have no shame and it was either this or lots of posts about woodcocks, boobies, and woodpeckers. All the posts in Come@Me Week are probably the opinions of the authors of said posts and no one else. Well, except maybe you. Weirdo. Agree? Disagree? We’ll see you in the comments. Or, more likely, on Facebook. Sigh…
