Happy St. Patrick’s Day to those of you who celebrate the day we can all be at least a little bit Irish. And a very happy Masemas for anyone who observes my son Mason’s birthday (probably not as many as the last group!) While we’re celebrating, let’s have three cheers for the coming equinox. On my side of the Equator, the future is growing a whole lot brighter. What, with so much to celebrate, will you be doing this weekend and will you be birding? Share your plans in the comments below.

My mother, mother-in-law, and godmother are all visiting right now. Mama mia, no birding for me!  Corey, a mean mother himself, will be birding locally in Queens, which could mean anything from seawatching to looking for his first phoebe of spring.

Whatever your plans this weekend, make time to enjoy SkyWatch Friday. Also be sure to come back Monday to share your best bird of the weekend!

Look to the skies for flocks of waterfowl on the wing! (more migratory sky shots here)
