21 Polo Horses Die in Florida
Authorities are looking in the deaths of 21 polo horses from Argentina. So far they have ruled out disease and are even looking into the possibility that they were deliberately killed. Yikes.

Future Serial Killer in Training?
I read an article last week about a series of cat killings and mutilations (20 total) in south Florida. Just awful. Now they've arrested an 18-year-old suspect named Tyler Hayes Weinman. He's charged with 19 counts of animal cruelty, 19 counts of improperly disposing of an animal body and four counts of burglary.

On Horses too Thin to Slaughter
This is an interesting moment in the story: Paragallo said Thursday that he had given the horses away to a Florida-based breeder, whom he did not identify, in December with the agreement that he could breed the mares back to one of his stallions based in New York or Florida. Stephanie wrote about horses dying across the pond yesterday.
